Course Overview
The course is designed to develop pre-existing knowledge and skills related to care of people with dementia and developing this knowledge in regards to managing care in differing and complex environments, reflecting the Trust’s values, and CQC and NMC requirements.

Objectives
• Consider and reflect on the issues involved in discussing the process of diagnosis with the service users and their families
• Be able to demonstrate an empathetic understanding the feelings and behaviours of service users and their carers
• Evaluate individual care management for people with dementia
• Critically consider end of life care for people with dementia and their families
• Understand a range of factors that influence the development of dementia services and where care takes place
