Course Overview
To develop the knowledge and skills of all staff managers, supervisors and team leaders about good practice, the purpose, benefits and process of appraisal and personal development planning. CNST, IWL, Healthcare Commission, HR in the NHS Plan all emphasise the importance of all employees participating in the Personal Development Review/appraisal process. Organisational policy requires all employees to have an annual review.

Objectives
The programme is aimed at all staff with responsibility for carrying out annual personal development reviews/appraisals, newly appointed managers, supervisors and team leaders. The key objectives are to ensure appraisers understand the context of personal development review/appraisal and improve ability to carry out effective personal development reviews.
