The Level 3 Introductory Award in Leadership and Management aims to give practicing or potential first line managers the foundation for their formal development in this role.  Please find the programme information below:
Programme Information
Target Staff Group
Participants will normally be either practising or aspiring first line managers. Whilst there are no formal educational requirements, learners should have a background that will enable them to benefit from the programme. This is likely to be Level 2 Key Skills Literacy and Level 1 Key Skills Numeracy, or their equivalent. Where intending learners do not have this level of literacy and numeracy, support can be arranged prior to the start of the programme
Course Prerequisites
Must be up to date with all mandatory training for your role. Nomination for a place on the programme will normally be made by the individual and his/her line manager to meet needs identified through the Personal Development Review/Appraisal process. However in some cases referrals will be made through HR Advisers where particular needs are identified during the course of their work
Objectives
To introduce new or prospective supervisors and team leaders to the role and responsibilities of the first line manager
To develop an acceptable level of understanding and performance required from first line managers across all disciplines in the fundamental aspects of good management practice
To help first line managers begin to form networks and improve their understanding of the roles of other departments and services

1 session once a week, over 6 weeks and 1 follow up session 1 month later. All session will be held at Stafford.
